Hiroshi Nonami is a surrealist photographer with a portfolio of breathtaking portraits. He doesn't use Photoshop, just plenty of old-fashioned darkroom techniques and hand-done experimentation.

I'm participating in an all-female art show at the Everybody Get Up Gallery called "Let Them Eat Cake" until May. If you have a sweet tooth and love frilly things, then this show is for you. The subject matter is a brief departure from my usual gothic tendencies, but it was a fun experiment. Shop here on the EverybodyGetUp site. A percentage of the profits will benefit the East Bay SPCA.

Snapped this photo at Wondercon and did a teeny bit of editing--contrast adjustments and cleaned up the background. The photo quality is a bit grittier than my other monotone photos, but I think it fits with the subject matter.

Article: Change Fonts to Save Money

Typographic Calender

Posted by Sherrie Thai of Shaire Productions.

Every font is designed with varying thicknesses and sizes, so there's more ink consumption for a thicker font. There's no simple rule--every case is different, but changing fonts to save a little money can help in the long run.

Serif fonts (like Times Roman, with the tiny legs on the letters) fare better than their Sans Serif counterparts (Arial, for example) on an economical level. For less text, Century Gothic takes less ink than Arial. More info on Yahoo.

As Spring is almost here, bunnies have been hopping around in my head. Here's the design, inspired by classic hip-hop, as a kid's shirt.
